Frequently asked questions

The most common things you want to know before getting started.

What is Sleep Training?

By sleep training your little one, you are giving them the tools to become a strong, independent, sleeper. That could mean, breaking a bad habit or eliminating a sleep mechanism. Sleeping is a skill, and if your child is taught how to fall asleep independently, at the right times of the day, they become a good sleeper for life!

What methods of sleep training do you use?

I teach all styles of sleep training, but the methods vary by client and their child’s specific needs. I will customize each plan with the best method, to reach the desired goal, with the least amount of tears.

How long until I see results?

While results vary by each child’s age and temperament, you may typically see results in 1-3 nights. However, this truly depends on your level of commitment to your child’s personalized program. The more dedicated you are to following the program, the faster you’ll see results!

What is the difference between sleep coaching and sleep training?

Sleep coaching is where we are creating good sleep hygiene and preparing your little one to be an independent sleeper. Sleep coaching is typically used with children from birth to 3 months of age. Do you teach the cry-it-out sleep method?

The Cry-It-Out method is not something I use often since there are other methods that reach the same goal with less tears. However, if this is a method that a client specifically requests, I can certainly incorporate it into their custom plan.

Do you only work with newborns and infants?

No! We work with children of all ages including newborns (0-12 weeks), infants (3-12months), toddlers (18 months-4 years), and school aged children (4-12 years).

At what age should I sleep train my child?

While the art of the sleep “coaching” or preparation can start at birth, you can start sleep training your child at around 12 weeks. Once a child reaches toddler age of 18 months – 4 years, sleep training shifts into behavior modification.

What if my baby is feeding through the night?

This is a common situation that we see with most newborns and infants, and can easily be incorporated into a personalized plan. If overnight feedings is something that a client is looking to eliminate, then (depending on the age of the child) we can incorporate that into a personalized plan as well.

After booking with you, what do you prepare for me/what might I need?

I will give you everything you need! (see my package details here!) However, there may be some essential items that you’ll want to pick up that I find to be super helpful in the sleep training process such as: swaddles/sleep sacks, sound machines, or black out curtains.
